The time has come. It's here, it's here!!! Time to go mad and kookie!! I saw that most of you parked your tricyles outside the secret garden gate? Are you just itching to party?? I have to tell you one of my 3 secrets... You see, this is no regular Tea Parrrtttiiieeee.... Oh, no no no... This is a tea party made out of, paper and bits of fabric!! Paper cakes and paper tea Sets! Paper tea pot, and more!! Ready to jump in??
Well then, pay your toll in smiles, to the Mad Hatter (who I made just for this special occassion), and hopitty hop, into the magic!!
I made everything for the party from scraps that I had in my possession (sans the edibles, I made the cakes from cake mix and bought the candies) . That was my goal, to make everything from things I already had...
Oh, did you smile at the Mad Hatter?? Do commend him on his great looks, would ya ;) Maybe even throw him a wee wink... He endured a 4 hour photo shoot in 105' weather...
But, never did he cease dancing in his metallic, teal blue shoes....
I wanted to make you some real special treats... So, I spent much time over the last couple weeks working on tea cups and a very very special, 4 tier, paper cake... Hence, the glue extravaganza... Hot glue, white glue, you name the glue, it is holding something together on this table ;)
Ta-daaaaaaaaaaaa.... Do you like it, do ya, do ya???
Paper and fabric and feathers and felt balls, and mica and paint, and glitter... What more can you ask for?? ;)
I wish you were here in person to see it! I intend to make more, and carry them in my shop... So, that is another secret for ya... I am going to be making paper cakes and tea sets and... Well, you'll see... But for now, it is pure PARTY!!! Wooo hoooooo!!
Before you dive into the yummies...
Make sure you choose a party hat!! I made them just for you!!!
Do you want to choose your tea cup??? I am sure you are itching for tea or maybe espresso, or even a cappuccino??? Well, as far as I am concerned, you can have anything you want in your tea cup!!
Simply choose the cup that suits your personality... Are you a curl of a silhouette person?? With baby pink undertones??
Or are you fiery, with flaming oranges all worn boldy, while you scope the room out. Only your eyes peeking over your fan??
Or perhaps, you are gentle and romantic???
Do you have a love of fresh flowers, and crisp air. Picking wild berries galore...
Does bright pink, make your heart skip a beat?? Do you carry your pirate's stripes, wherever you go??
Or do you prefer to be playful and monkey around???
Do you get lost in dreams of music, while sitting in a cafe in Italy...
Or, are you a captivating mixture of sweet and mysterious??
Whatever the case may be... Choose the perfect paper teacup for you... and come with me...
Let me pour you a cup of whatever it is your heart desires, from my magic paper tea pot...
Sweet and soothing... Dark and exhilarating... Minty and refreshing... Floral and Spice... You choose...
Into your cup it goes... Magic... Makes all your dreams come true... I promise...
Now, doesn't a party just hit the right spot???
At this party, you can eat and sip to your hearts content...
Stack them as high as you'd like...
Then turn around, and without hesitaiton... Choose a 4th dessert...
As you nibble... Enjoy the floating magic bubbles... And dance with your cake in hand...
Just hang out by the giant cake, chat... And have a JOLLY good TIME!!!
Hey, wait a second... Where did all the party hats I made, go???
Oh, there they are... You see, I raided my childhood trunk and found some of my old playmates, to come out and have tea with us... And also, to keep Kay Ellen's bunnies company... Can you guess which ones they are???
Yep, there's one... (Looks like the mice are even being wacky today!!)
And there is another one... Can you guess thier names???
As for me... I was the Party Planner Cinderella. You kow, the girl who doesn't have time to make herself pretty, because she was working too hard... I tried for the Mask...
And then looked very annoyed while not being able to attach a party hat to my monsoon weather hair...
I would much rather wear my hair in this sort of fashion for the soiree... Then, I was thinking, maybe I could be her for the party? Circa early eighties?? I know, totally random ;) Thanks, I knew you would be okay with that ;)
Now, don't forget to visit the fortune teller before you go... When I found her 8 years ago, she was spray painted gold, over her eyes and everything. I took a q-tip with alcohol to her eyes, and voila, real glass eyes underneath! I was stunned!! Then I painted her flesh tone, and gave her make-up and lips... Isn't she beautiful now?? She was a major find! Those eyes... Then I got her a lovely expensive wig, and who knew?? She was the beautiful fortune-teller extraordinaire...
Oh, wait, the Fortune teller has a message for you... There will be 3 of you who will find yourselves gifted with a giveaway... Oooo, aaaaaaah... Yes! it is true... The first prize winner, must promise to be kind and loving... As two little snail girl sisters need a home...
The second giveaway, will be a magical sparkly fairy ring... Very much like this, only in German vintage silver glitter... Along with another wacky surprise... The third treat, will be any canvas print from my shop, and a pack of postcards... Does that sound like fun?? I will draw names in my next blog post...
So let's get busy partying!!!! Also, the lovely artiste + extra fun painting video maker, Miss Suzi Blu, is in on this tea madness!!! She will be hosting a wacky tea room, live chat in the afternoon... I will be there, along with a bevy of other mad people... You can join us if you'd like... Details so far...
LET'S HAVE FUN!!!!! Woo HOO!!! xoxo, V (It's 2 a.m. must sleep, and will be back here in a few hours to play and party!!) IT'S 7:46 a.m.!! I am awake and DANCING!!! Party on!!! Starting to make my visits ;)
11:30 a.m. update (Arizona Time)!! I have had sooooo many cupcakes and delicious edibles!!!
I am making my way with visits to all my lovely friends!! You girls are soooo Amazing, my humble heart is bursting!!! I can't ever say enough!!! I send buckets of magic and whimsy and wonderfulnesssssss!!! Dancing to this now....
Not to get to cheesy mushy but I have to say... Don't ever forget how much you matter, and how wonderful you are!! Remember, you got the love, right inside of you... xoxo
3:30 p.m. update: Hi Mad Tea Party Loves!! Are ya having fun???? I am still making my way to visits. This might take me a while (wait, this "will" take me a while)!! So much goodness shared. What a wonderful thing to see!! Thank you for your beautiful blogs!! It has been a Mad Day here too!! Mr. Lovee was on a radio show today... So I was a good Miss Dovee, and listened... And now, he is serenading you!! And then, he is off to play rock and roll (normally it's blues)!!
The live chat was a fun new experience today! It took me forever to figure it out... But, it turned out to be really easy!! It was fun!! Mr. Lovee was less than amused at the fibs I told about him. Hee heeeeeee!!! So funny...
So, do your bellies ache from all the eaten goodies?? Just wait, we have the night ahead of us!! Ha ha!! I might need a nap ;)
10:30 p.m. update: Hi there!! What a long and wonderful party day!! I have made sooo many visits!! I am so touched by the magic I saw! Incredible!! Some of the places I visited gave me error messages, so I will try again tomorrow!! You know, since we have a huge Latin flair down here. I have to tell ya, if an in person party had ensued as such, tomorrow, we would meet again, and continue the party with brunch and champagne.... So, perhaps, I'll see ya for a little more partying on Sunday!! But for now, it's off to bed for this Witchy pooooo!!! Thank you so much for a Superbly Magical day!!
Sunday 10:30 a.m update: G'mornin, G'mooooornin, G'mooooornin... I awoke this morning, in a daze, wondering if it had all been a dream...
But I guess it wasn't, because I still have on my A Fanciful Twist discotheque wrist band from last night!! Are you still wearing yours???? I hate it when that happens... hee heee
Waiiiit, before you say anything... Really, don't tell me how I acted last night when I was giant toadstool hopping... Really, I don't want to know that I had frosting all over my pantaloon ruffles!! Or that, I had so much sugar in me, that I was actually bopping from tree to tree... Harassing the birds... No really.. Spare me the details... And, seriously, I got news for you... Wait until I tell you what you were doing!!! I bet your have no recollection??? HAaaaaa!! hee hee ;)
I think I am going to have a bit more tea & treats... I know, I know... Insane!! But, I just can't say good-bye to the party love yet... It will be too traumatic ;)
Oh!! Before I forget, here is the ring that one of you will win! I will hold the random drawing for it, and all the other treasures, like the snail girls, in a couple of days...
We are dancing to this, and being extra, day after the party, wacky... But don't worry, I won't draw the party out too much longer... You might get sick of me and never want to play my games again if I continue with these shenanigans...
So, I best be off to wake all the other critters up... My beloved adopted lamb son, made by my dear friend Sarah, is still sleeepin'... All the noise and he still sleeps....
So, I think the jolt of morning activity, really is doin' me in... I am a noodle!! Maybe I need a little more magic in a cup? Just so I can keep goin' a little longer... Won't you have a bit as well??
All I can say is, you all made this the funnest weekend ever!! Beyond mine and all the creature's wildest dreams!!!!! My sincerest, most humble thank yous!!! I'll leave this post up for a couple of days, so we can all visit and catch up.

WOW!!!!!!!
This is the most wonderful, colourful party I have seen.
I have just posted my own partypost with link to the Grand Party. I wrote there that I'll bring Marta along.
It is mine and Terje's 28th wedding anniversary today. I'll bring Terje as well........

Wow, I had no idea about this till today. I heard about it from Dapoppins, but just....wow. Everything is so colorful and beautiful. And I'm going to check out your Etsy store right now.

I will be posting mine later. Votre soiree est magnifique, mon ami! Beautiful, madly creative and delicious. Your teacups are inspired, as are your cakes and special treats and the tea. Merci bien!xoxoxoxoxox

The Mad Tea Party! It's here! It's here! I was so excited I could hardly sleep! Oooohhhh, the Mad Hatter is soooo debonaire and the tiered paper cake! I must have a slice or three of that. (so glad you're going to carry them in your Etsy store)I only wish now I had ordered one of your cakes for the Very Merry Unbirthday Garden Party over at Amusing Muses. I choose the turquoise and pink party hat, please and the bright pink teacup, if it's not already taken. Your party is so much fun. Thank you for inviting us and please come to our garden party when you wake up. Someone has painted the Queen's roses red! The flowers are gossipping, and the Mad Hatter is hiding in the hydrangeas. Alice is drinking teas with her big sister and the mock turtle down by the pond, but there's plenty for everyone. Now, I'm going to have my fortune told....

Oh how wonderful it is...I can't wait until I arrive with all my little ladies in line behind me...there was mayhem last night as everyone fought over the jewels...they just want so much to impress you. I told them all to behave and that they must get some sleep before we embark through the portal...I'm not even going to mention the little heart cakes or they'll never settle down! We'll be over a little later!

What a spectacular table. The cakes and cups are so special. I am enjoying the piano music by one of the snail sisters while I sip tea from my romantic styled cup. How I wish I could stay all day in this festive place. Thank you for hosting the party. I definitely chose a fourth dessert.

There are some advantages of living in the future, you know, it's still nice and quiet here, we can choose whatever party hat we like, take the cup we desperately want and whisper in the ear of the sleeping beauty Vanessa: congrats on your 200th and on a very inspiring teaparty...and throw some more fairy dust on her...to encourage her hand to take MY NAME out of that beautiful hat....
Have a nice party and enjoy your visits everywhere.
Thanks for hosting and inspiring....toodles!

Vanessa,
What a magnificant display of color ...like pulling a giant confetti popper and having it cascade over me in glorious, glittery fireworks.
I'm feasting on cake and candy! I'm enjoying the piano music as a sip from my teacup. I'm buzzing like a bee drunk on nectar. The Mad Hatter treated me to a glorious spin on the color ferris wheel...oh I've enjoyed it. I watched the snail girl sisters blow bubbles from the tippy top! What's that?
Ding. Ding. Ding. Oh my!
I'm late...I'm late...for a very important date...oh my....which way...which way...I think I saw the white rabbit go this way...I must find my way back to post...I'm just dizzy with joy!
I hear the mmusic speaking to me...come back....come back..........
