Fasten your corsets and lace up your boots! Put on your top hats and antique black suits! Curl your mustache and iron your hair, don't dust off the spider webs, why, they add such flair!!! (The 2009 event is officially LIVE, right here)
It's time to creep up the spiral staircase, to the ornately carved tiny door, that holds a secret keyhole to another place from long before...
A place where beautiful black daisies grow, with a hint of a royal plum hue...
Where potions are concocted...
And chocolate mushrooms flourish in the mysterious Fairytale Forest...
It is in this place where beloved ghosts are free to roam, and tell tales, hundreds of years old. This is the time of the year, where the ghostly characters start to slowly open their eyes, and think about stretching their legs...
Time to slowly let them out of the glass carnival case...
While ideas of Halloween begin to trickle in, there are magical pumpkin groves nourishing the lives of precious white ghost pumpkins. Pumpkins who are preparing to be cut from their vine, for All Hallows' Eve celebrations...
This is the moment that I have chosen to share an announcement that has been stewing & bottled up for almost a year. I am ghoulishly excited to share the date for 2009's Halloween Fête! The date, October 17, 2009. Giving plenty of time to share all sorts of treats before Halloween itself...
Last year was beyond magical, remember the fun we had right here? We get to do it again!!! BWwwwahahahhahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! (cackle cackle)
Here is this year's flyer (enlarge it and copy it) for all of us participating to use on our blogs, and to spread the word to our friends ;)
And here is the button - at the end of this post, I will share the "rules" for participation. (rules???)
This is the perfect reason for me to open my secret box, housing a very special pair of foot adornments, perfect for broom riding... (I wish I had all my foot treasures here in the country, but more than half live at the city house)
Anyhow, these beauties arrived last month, and I dare say, Chie Mihara is one of my faves! So, perhaps you can use this celebration as an excuse to bring home a new pair of Autumnal/Winter foot loves? I am going to have to start selling gumballs out of my Gypsy Theatre Wagon ;)
But, I am one happy pointy hat wearer. Even a witch likes herself a pair of fab broom riders, every now and then...
Oh me, oh my... Do they fit?
OH YES! Perfect for riding the clouds on my brooooooom!
I saw these little guys in the Anthropolgie catalog and thought and thought - and then, when I decided to buy, they were sold out. Thanks to Revolve Clothing, I found a pair...
Speaking of shoes, make sure you put your hand up to the attic rafters, and give the little ghosts a hand climbing down for the spooktacular season...
So whattaya say? Ready for another Halloween Extravaganza???? I can't wait!!!!
The shop is full of Halloween treats, and there will be more to come, I hope!!
Wondering what to do if you sign up?
If you are signing up to participate in the Halloween Celebration, all you have to do are 4 things.
1) Share the flyer and/or the button on your blog as soon as possible and link to me. I will then add your name to the "Halloween Partiers" list in my LEFT hand side bar, and link back to you. (This list will replace my regular blog roll up to a week after the party)
2) On the day of the party, October 17th 2009, please make sure to post a Halloween Party post of your own, on your blog, linking to me. Other partiers will be visiting you on that date.
3) IMPORTANT - On the day of the party, after you have your own Halloween blog post up and running, please leave a comment at my Halloween party post including your "Actual Party Link." I will use this information to create an archive list of everyone's actual parties.
4) Blog hop with the other partiers on the day of the event and have a hauntingly ghoulish blast!!
Note: Please make sure you post a party post on October 17th if you signed up. Last year several people did not do this, and lots of partiers e-mailed me to ask why they were finding some blogs without a party post. I didn't have an answer. (if you sign up and later find that you can't make the event, please let me know and I will remove your name from the list)
Now, let's get out our cauldrons my friends!!!! The witches are already getting anxious!
I know it seems a little early, but two months is just enough time to do everything on my side of the party ;) And, of course, time goes by so quickly...
Leave a comment if you'd like to sign up for the party, or e-mail me: VanessaValencia@aol.com. You have from now until the party to sign up. Advance notice abound ;)
See you sooooooooooon!!
♥♥♥ ,V
ps: I just followed a link to Craft Nouveau's Big Crafty Blog List for 2009, who knew? How fun!!!!
pss: PLEASE be extra clear if you would like to be added to the party list ;) You can join at any time, but if you want to be added, please say so ;) :)
psss: I had been adding everyone to the party list as I received participation notices, however, my list was only showing ten people - that has been fixed ;) ;) THANK you for joining!!!

wow, forward planning! i must organize myself for this properly this time!
but oh, i want that magical shoe cabinet, how unfair is this life!

OH HECK YEAH -- include me -- there's only one thing I like better than your usual parties and that's a HALLOWEEN GATHERING! Mwuahahaha....indeed. My fave time of year and the thing I live year round.
When I moved from the 4 bdr to a 1bdr apt I gave away so much stuff (*cry*) but I can get creative. It's a challenge. Force the muse to work harder. ';)
P.S. I have Chi Mihara shoe envy and lust.

Me little toes are wiggling with delight
as I'm sure it will be a magical night.
Filled with scary ghost stories
and faded old dories (I'm sure you're wondering what a dori is...hey me too!!!
and things that go bump in the light,
I mean night.
Let me think if I'll be around
when the bell tolls 10, I'm sure I'll be found.
What am I saying? I don't rightly know, but, maybe those shoes would fit on my toes ;-).

Anyone who offers Chocorooms from a beautifully gloved hand and adorns one's tootsies in such fabulous footwear is my kind of ghoul. So my dear Vanessa, do count me in as one of the Hauntingly Magical Celebrants. I cannot wait ... must get to work ... plotting. Let's see ... where did I put those rats ...

May I ask where you found the black shoe cabinets from? And your shoe collection, all I can say is "WOW!" I am not a big shoe person, but you must own every pair I would ever drool over! Zapato Heaven :0) Off to start my party list...
