While I was at the city house for the weekend, seems my yearly visitors moved right into the country pad...
You should hear the commotion here. It is F a Bulous. Dancing, beats, witches. Yummmmy...
I never listen to pop music, not ever. I used to, when I used to cruise 8 hours a day in my rabbit convertible in the early 90's (when I was a teen) - But now, I am out of touch completely.
I listen to NPR and all sorts of fun stuff streaming from Europe etc., but no popular music.
However, the silence this morning caused me to do the oddest thing. I am live streaming 102.7 KIIS FM out of Los Angeles.
It was her idea, I swear...
And so, I am listening, and on comes a song - and I find that I know it. Although, I have never heard it before. I rack my brain, why do I know this song right here?? Then I realize why. Is it me or is there a hint of Cyndi Lauper's Time after Time in the background (at 1:40)????
Anyhow, Miss Witchie above is trying to convince me that she was Fergie 300 years ago. Hmmm, could be? tee hee ;)
Anyhow, where was I -
Ah yes, witches in the country.
Well, the magic spell candy tree, might lead you through the forest, but beware...
You don't want to end up looking like this do you?
I love the time of year when nice little ladies...
Turn into...
We are just putting on our garments and drying our striped stocking on the line. Are you? (Thanks to Mammie for making my witch lots of outfits, she made every detail of this outfit and Miss Fergie Witchie Poo loves it ;)
All sorts of fun up our sleeves for this week. We are totally immersed in the season. Packing all the magic into 6 days is our goal. Total magic submersion. Join us?
Mmmm, there is excitement in our bellies, and the scent, oh the scent of the season is alive. One of them brought home an orange pumpkin spice broom, and it smells divine! I am sensitive to smells, but this is just lovely, not yucky at all...
I just love love love love looooooove this time of year, love love love!!!
My legs are bopping around madly, I have to go dance! I have that Black Eyed Peas song under my skin (in a good way).
I love being the age I am. I don't care what is cool or what is not. Age is irrelevant. I conjure up my 83 year old self some days, and others I am merely 6. I am carefree and happy and life is good. Right in this moment it is good. It doesn't matter if I have stresses or anything. In this second in time, it rocks...
Period.
You can be ageless. What is age? It is the amount of time you have been on this earth, but for heaven's sake, it shouldn't define us, much less define our spirit. No way! I can't stand when someone says that someone else looks old. We are all going to get old eventually. Unless you leave the earth before you get a wrinkle or two, you are not age immune ;) - And, it's no big deal.
So let it all go. Come on, go dance, won't you? Shoulders, hips, head..............
Any worries you have, at this moment, are gone ~ YAH!
Remember that feeling of having a crush on someone? That giddy youthful feeling that we sometimes think we lost. We do have it, it is alive somewhere in there! I love conjuring those feeling through music. A giddy crush on life, what a concept!
In the movie Awakenings, when Leonard is awakened through medication from his living coma, he wants to scream to the world that we have forgotten, we have forgotten how good life is... I always think about that right here.
Okay now, must go dance, do chores, play, do work ~ etc...
I will try to have lots of spooky fun this week to share...
♥ ,V
ps: Fab gnome costume ideas in the Disney Family Fun Halloween Magazine, Oooooooh!
pss: While I was at my city house this weekend, I opened an old CD player and guess what was in it? Blast to the past! I love that 1:12 mark...
psss: Memories from last year - I am going here for Hallowwwweeen celebrations this year again.

and a merry happy autumn to you! Such prettiness...

Hello! Miss Vanessa
I love your witchey ladies! Where did you ever find them! They are darling! I am going to log on to everything you typed in blue...looks like so much fun! And, yes, my 82 year old friend ( who used to be a Vogue model back in the days) still acts like a teenager, and I love it, and my husband's 93 year old mother says she is 2l, going on 17! It is her spark for life, and humor that has kept her going... From one soul-mate to another...
Cheers!

Oh that song is quite catchy!!! I'll probably have it in my head for the rest of the day :-P
As you can probably tell from my previous ramblings I am a huge music fan and like all different types of music too. I can go from Indie to Rock to Classical to 80's and etc... OH AND lots of NPR!!!!! I find that I feel younger now than I did when I was younger :-) Hopefully I will feel this way for a while (sigh)
Have a wonderful spooky happy week!!
p.s. Ms. Witchie is DIVINE!!
p.s.s. Tell Mattie and Baby HIIIIIIIII

Talk about spooky. This morning Thriller played through on my mp3 player while I was doing my hair and I thought "I need to watch 13 Going on 30 - that scene was so fun." And yes I squealed when I saw it in your post. :)
Age. Meh. I don't believe in it! Which is good since this Halloween I'm dressing up like Jem...who I dressed up as when I was 8 or 9. Just a few years ago...haha.
And it looks like you're going to Old Tucson for Halloween - how fun is that?!

Dance Dance Dance!! I have never been able to categorize myself in one musical or literary genre-and sometimes i dont hear a "hit" song until its on a commercial for antiperspirant or something and then PC Boy laughs at me, because its like a year old by then...
I just likes what I likes...when i likes it...and I L♥VE Halloween tooo! So I'm putting on my stockins and partayin with ya over here

The week before Halloween, I get this big magic rush. Everything has a faerie feel to it even when riding the subways here in NYC during rush hour!
Ooh..i'm dreaming of your baklava..
I don't listen to the radio like i used to, i do watch videos on you tube or on VH1 to keep up. I can get lost in some old swing music or chamber music for a day or two.

Thank you for yet another inspiring post and the reminder to be happy. I LOVE the Black Eyed Peas. I am 46 and rarely listen to older music. I like all the new electronic music, but it's not on the radio either. I find it thru Pandora.( My 20 year old turned me on to that site)
Have a Spooktacular Halloween,

Ahhh, yes teenage years of cruising around listening to Pop and Freestyle not a care in the world. Then you become a parent and all you are familiar with is The Wiggles :)
I always feel like a kid at heart, our mind stays young and our body ages, but you are right non of that is relevant in the heaven, only our deeds.

Vanessa:
I woke up in "not so good of a mood"...Now, I feel so much better. You have a way of cheering folks up. A few magical words, some star-shiny photos and, just like that, I feel like dancing right along with you.
Thank You:
Kim

It is a very chilly and blustery day here...blowing in that snow storm I'm sure! It's perfect weather for Fall though...all cloudy and cool. I am enjoying all the smells of Fall too...I made broccoli soup last night, and I am drinking my Pumpkin Pie Coffee in the mornings...I even dug out my Pumpkin hand soap...and changed all my lotion scents all around. It's about time to grab a pumpkin, start carving and roast those seeds!! (Oh...and I'm still eating that delicious apple pie from the weekend!!)

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! It is always so fun to hang out here. I am still in transition and feel like I have really missed the spirit of the season. We are sort of buried under snow so there is a bit of chill, I hope that hasn't put all of the ghouls into hibernation. Thanks for putting some of the spirtis (he, he)back into my life. Deb

Oh what fun!! To break out in song and dance while vacuuming!! I do it all the time!! Loved the Thriller clip!! Made my morning so much brighter...even with all this snow!
Hugging you
SueAnn
PS 60 here going on 14!!!

I didn't catch the "Time after Time" vibe from the song but my husband's better at hearing that than I am. In music today it's very common to "sample" other songs - use the beat or even whole sections of another song within a new song. I've noticed artists seem particularly fond of sampling songs from the 80's. It can be really fun to be listening to a new song and catch a glimpse of an old favorite. :)
I absolutely LOVE those gnome costumes. If I had little kids they would SO be going in those. And when I saw them I wondered how weird it would look for a 38 year old woman to be a garden gnome. hehe

How did I miss this post???
OH, V-----
The Black Eyed Peas are my guilty little pleasure. Don't TELL anyone.
I just DARE you to listen to this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9F444CELomo
and not giggle and wiggle your rumplestiltskin.
"Them chickens jackin' my style!!!"

Every dance, no matter what style, has something in common. It not only involves flexibility and body movement, but also physics. If the proper physics is not taken into consideration, injuries may occur.
