Imagine trying to get a bunch of chatting elves, to quiet down, and pose for a photo? Elves have soooooo much to chat about. I can't even begin to tell you ;)
The ghostlings were rather cooperative.
They are so excited about Halloween, all you have to say is candy corn, to get their attention....
The witches threatened to put a spell on the elves if they didn't quiet down about cakes and cotton candy, and the elfin county fair...
It worked, because the elves soon calmed down and smiled in their own charmingly cute way, for a delightful group photo.
But then again, I am their mama, so I am partial, tee hee...
And with that, I can finally share that, the handful of things I worked on this summer are finally coming to fruition...
Which means that all of these wee creatures are in search of a home.
And are all in my shop as of 5 seconds ago, looking to be adopted...
YAY!
I have been so busy this summer, and boy oh boy, it feels good to finally be finishing up groups of art projects that I have been working on, so I can finally share tid-bits.
Now I need a vacation :)
(Only, I don't like to travel. I did a lot growing up, but now I like to stay home.)
♥ ,V
I can't make my giant hearts on the new Typepad.
But, little or big, a heart is a heart, and means the same thing ;)
ps: Look at my new friend. I put him in a nook in the garden (not close), and he keeps finding his way into my office. 3 times this week in fact. Cute little horned toad.
Which is not actually a toad, but a lizard...
Cutest little belly ever!
I scooped him up and put him back in the garden. Again.
Hope he wasn't trying to give me a message that I couldn't hear...

Yay for "horny toads"! I used to catch those all the time when I was a wee-kiddie. Unfortunately all of the pesticides that people use on their lawn and in their gardens have killed off so many lizards and toad creatures. Makes me cry. ':(

OMG your Art and that adorable little Horny Toad are all so precious!!! We have a ton of baby Lizards on our property this Season and they are too cute and almost seem "tame"... they don't want to leave your hand once they are on you and we've had to coax them onto branches and other safe places. I just adore all of God's creatures... and some of the colors and design of their skins or fur are absolute testimony of the Great Artist Himself!!!

Oh that little horned toad is the cutest thing! I haven't seen any of those guys since we moved here, but I have seen lots of other Arizona dearies. I love all your wee creatures! I don't know if I will be able to buy one, but that doesn't mean I won't stop by your shop multiple times to ogle them!

Maybe the message was encoded on the toad's belly.

I adored catching up on your delights friend! The precious little being in your world, from your puppy to your creations light up the page! I remember a year ago! Goodness let's ask Hermione for the time turner once in awhile to go back and hug Baby and "baby" puppies! I can't wait to get the Somerset Workshop that is out this month! My dear friend, Rena Askey is in that with you! I just adore Rena and we try to talk or email daily. She only lives fifteen minutes away and so we are in heaven! Her birthday is the nineteenth! I can't believe the year is gone. Happy Celtic New Year!!! Blessings.

Oh your little weelings are too sweet for words to describe!!! I know too well about little elves and all their chatter. Why they never quiet down unless...well you know...tee hee!!!
Did you remember to give your little horned toad a kiss before you sent him on his way? I'm sure that's why he keeps coming back into the studio and he'll probably keep coming back until he gets one. As a little girl one of my favorite past times was kissing toads and frogs and searching for pollywogs. Tis a wonder me lips aren't covered in warts, eeeewwwww!!!! I'll bet you kissed them too! Yes? I promise I won't tell ;-).
hugs and a million kisses to you, my Beloved Fanciful Friendling, on this lovely Autumn day.

I love your little figurines. Did you sell your ghost already? are you selling your elves? Maybe I'll just have to get some post cards. Katharine

Oh, I love your new creations, sweet Vanessa! Already on their way to new homes before some of us could scarcely blink an eye! I know you are thrilled that they will be loved in their new homes. Keep creating for those of us who weren't quite quick enough to snatch one! : )
Where I grew up in the Texas Panhandle, we also used to see those little horned toads. I would hold them and rub their little bony heads, and I remember they would close their eyes!
You have a relaxing weekend. It looks like you certainly deserve to put your feet up and take it easy. Oh, and how is that ankle doing?
Sending loveses and hugses.

i love your creations. I should give a couple a new home.
The toad is so cute, too.

I don't enjoy travel either, which is why when I go to an estate sale and find fabulous treasures, I just know it's because that is where I am meant to be rather than off to foreign lands.
If you were to kiss that little darling, would he turn into a handsome prince? Better not try.
Your delightful elves are friends with all of the garden devas, and surely they have lured the little toad.

Late to the party yet again! :( Thank you so much for sharing such lovely treasures! I am happy they are on their way to wonderful new homes. :) And what a sweet little toad! I guarantee that he shall bring much good fortune to you. :) xoxo Theresa

Oh how I love your creations! You really are a wonderfully talented lady! And such an inspiration for my little girl! We are so fortunate to have found your blog!
P.s. The little guy is really cute! Every night we see toads come out into our courtyard and hop around. 3 or 4 or more of them. I love to watch them out of the kitchen window. I often wonder what they're saying to each other, in their own secret toad language. And sometimes when they see me, I wonder what they think.
P.s.s. We have lots and lots of lizards and geckos on the property. The owners stopped the chemical treatment on the grounds about 1 year ago. I am so glad. They're not hurting anyone. Matter of fact the lizards and toads help keep out the bugs. Hope you're having a "toadily" awesome day! :)

Oh! I loved seeing his belly!!!!
It reminds me of the interior of a sunflower.
Hey----the comment above from someone from Texas reminded me....
I've heard you can 'hypnotize' them.
I think it's from methodically and gently rubbing their tummy??????
How cool would that be?
Hypnotizer of toads.
You could get a framed degree.

hello Vanessa,
wow, what a wonderful bunch of figures you created again ! You've really been busy !
About the toad... I've never seen anything like that? A horned toad ?
I'm sure he has something to say to you...never heard of kissing a frog, maybe it works on a toad too ?
I know you already have a prince, but maybe he turns is something else ?...LOL
greetings from belgium

I am sure your little friend is trying to deliver a message. Maybe now that you have some studio work completed you should slow down and hear what the toad/lizard has to tell you.
Sounds like the elves are being adopted out rather quickly and you may need to grow a new batch!
