The party is a mere handful of days away, or less, oh my!! Are your striped stockings in order? Broom in check? We have places to go, apples to bob for, magic to make!! But first, we prepare...
I am preparing my frock, sparkling up my bugs, blackening my flowers! I am polishing my boots, readying my spells, fluffing my cobwebs!
And most importantly, preparing this year's babies for their first fête...
I am collecting the punkins that are ready to go on with the next step in their lives, you know...
Pies, cakes, Jack-o-lanterns, and more!
I am whipping around my garden on my vintage Schwinn 3 wheel bike (which needs a trip to the bike doctor), collecting all the babes I grew, and watching others who are still growing. The harvest was mostly complete in July, I thought. But then, a whole new wave.
We have eaten and gifted many, but still, there are those that felt that they HAD to be at the party...
And so, I collect...
Calling all pumpkin head partiers!!! ;)
Ooo, babies still sleeping and growing...
Oh, I love you wee punkin' babe!! He loves you too ;)
Collect collect, vite vite, no time to waste. We have a party to whip up, pronto, on the double!
Oh, pumpkin holiday, here we come!
How did pumpkin time get here so soon? It is all a blur I tell you, a pure blur!
Now, let's go, we must get to the party area quick. Leaving the back garden, driving by the cottage, vroooom!
Waving at the baby twins!
Oops, lost one! Toss him back in carefully ;)
Dahlias smile, sunlight twinkles...
Shrubs of crimson marigolds, edged in mandarin orange, adorn the path...
Pedal pedal...
Through the front garden...
And to the party site we go.
No time to waste, oh no! The party planner, that's me, is delayed. She has no plans, no way Jose. Fly off the seat of her broomstick, that is her motto!
But the pumpkin grower delivery girl is here with her goods (that's me too, phewey)!
And that is an important step indeed!
Next step, make pretty wearables!
Spray painting faux sunflowers and plastic insects, with a little flat black paint, is most crucial to our ensemble!
I spary paint my bugs and flowers, and sprinkle glitter on them while the paint is still wet. Glued and painted, all in one!
Yummms wickedness attire!
I wonder if I should glue a brooch back to my flower, or hot glue it to a ribboned bracelet. Remember we made those here and here?
I choose the bracelet method...
I hot glued a sparkly insect to my flower, then hot glued that, to the center of my bracelet. Oh and, I tucked in some super orange leaves as well...
I like it, what do you think?
Not half bad for things I had in my house, no? Plastic bugs, fake flowers, cardboard, ribbon, glitter, spray paint and hot glue?
If you don't have proper witchy jewels, you best make one of these. It suits your darker side perfectly, I just know it ;)
It is madness around here I tell you! Must get back out and work on my party. I am such a last minute gal. I mean, witch.
(Thank goodness for my helpful Warlock, he brought lots of party treats)
SO much to do, I need a spell like, yesterday!
How are you doing? Getting ready to party?
Polish your eyeballs if you are a guest, and polish your crystal ball if your are a participant, we have some serious Halloween magic to conjure!!
Bwahahaaaa!
Okay, I have to get to work, wish me luck!!
Love, Broomhilda
(Not to be confused with Brunhilda. And your name? Do share, please!)
ps: Important Party comments tip if you use Blogspot.
Please read carefully.
I have been having a very difficult time leaving comments on Blogspot blogs, and therefore, don't as much as I would like. So, I asked my friend Theresa, who uses Blogspot, why her blog is so easy to comment on? This is what she guided me to share with other Blogspot bloggers...
When choosing how folks will comment on your blog, you should consider trying the following when in your blogspot account.
1) Settings
2) Comments
3) Choose "Anyone" under Who Can Comment
4) Select Pop Up Window under Comment Form Placement
5) Save Settings
note: I think the problems occur when people are using Full Page or Embedded Below Post
pss: And now...

Hahahha my parents used to call me Broomhilda when I was being rotten as a child. Now I prefer to go by the name Agatha Merriweather of Pumpkintown. HEEHEE! When I first saw your spider flowers I was going to ask you where you got them, but then I saw you made them! Oh that is just lovely and an idea I am going to throw myself right into. You're so darn creative.
Lots of love,
Jenn

Oh!! Thank you for the Blogspot tip! I use Blogspot and I hope I haven't inadvertently missing anyone's comments or angering someone when they try to comment...
Otherwise, your decorations are amazing! And once again you have raised my jealousy with your gorgeous pictures! Oh how I wish I had your house!
Much love,

EEEEE! HEEHEHEHEHEHEEEE!
I'm getting ready for the festivities, also! :)
My witch name is Maizell (May-zell), which is what my family always called me when I was rotten! (either that or the "green-eyed monster") haha!
I have spookiness galore and can't wait to welcome everyone in. ;)
See you all sooooon......

Pumpkins galore! I love your method of gathering them on your bike. I gathered my(much smaller) harvest yesterday-three beautiful squashes-they are lovely and on my kitchen table looking colourful. Can't wait fo the party. I have a very busy weekend so will probably be visiting people on Monday though.
Have a fun time getting ready! x

Oh, I am LOVING your sweet little pumpkins (and your bike, too. I've got to get me one of those...) I am in the midst of finalizing my party prep for the BIG DAY ~ WoooHoooo! I am so looking forward to visiting everyone's blogs and making new friends!
My Dad named me Princess Squash when I was young and so that is my "Witchy" name. =)
Thank you for the Blogger info - I looked at my settings and they were pretty wonky, so I fixed them according to what your friend suggested. I'm so glad you shared that!
See you sooooooooon! Sparkly hugs!

Your pumpkin crop is amazing! Your green thumb is truly gifted.
It is with a heavy heart that I will not be able to participate in your celebrated Halloween Tea. {heavy sigh, sniff, sniff} My dinning room ceiling sprung a leak... and then a big hole... and alas my tea service is packed away until repairs are complete.
But,I will come out and play, traveling through blogland visiting all the happy partiers.
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie

I am so sad and sorry, but I have to back out of the Halloween-party this year. My life is basically a mess at the moment, and I haven't had time to do half of the things I planned to this fall :(
Have a great party, and of course I will still visit you!

(Faerie Boots and Foie Gras)) I've had trouble commenting on others' blogs before too, and don't want my new cozy virtual spot to be difficult for people to use. So, hopefully any issues have now been corrected. Your pumpkins look smashing! (Some Halloween party humor there ; ) Oh, please don't squash my joy! (hee hee) Can't wait to visit everyone's party posts! (Everyone can still get to my party post via the link on Faerie Boots and Foie Gras) Thanks Vanessa~You're a great hostess!
