I have been drawing, and water-coloring and sparkling galore...
Working on original art cards, which I just added to my online shop.
Original art cards are something I began years ago when I carried my cards in shops and did shows. They are original pen and ink drawings on fold open cards, that I watercolor and add lots of sparklies to.
Most folks who own these have told me that they frame them up and keep them, since they are originals. They are fun in little groupings too.
I love making these, however, photographing has proven to be a huge challenge. It does not convey how sparkly and fun these are in person. But, I tried to get them as close as possible.
Meow!
I have stacks and stacks of drawings of some of the wee characters that visit me. Even when I least expect, there one is, jabbering my ear off with stories. Some so beautiful they make me cry. Some so funny, they make me laugh out loud.
If I happen to have a pen (or pencil) in hand, I try to capture a few ;)
These drawings are very tricky because, they are basically a one shot piece. This means that since I use pen and ink and watercolor, I get one chance to draw + paint, and no chance for mistakes.
For some reason I just love making these.
Below is an example of a card from the side. All of these drawings are done on an off white card. A change to the stark white I normally use...
I thought a little whimsical Halloween love was in store...
With moons and stars and feathers and sparkles, and bright shining faces...
I tilted a few, like the witchy below, in an attempt to share how sparkly they are...
What is Halloween without a couple of witches?
I used to host huge Halloween witches tea parties at my house, every year, with all of my friends. I have not had one in ages, but this witchy reminds me of those wonderful and magical times!
Ribbons and costumes, I just love dress-up, don't you?
Ooooo, and a little black lipstick is always fun once a year. I need to find mine. I have no idea where it is?
Oh oh, and owls.
How I adore owls. Especially plump little guys, who sit in sparkly trees ;)
Sweet owling, full of secrets I'm sure!
And trick or treaters!
Some loud as can be, and some shy, like she...
Little sweetie. Let's give her some salt water taffy, shall we?
Oh oh, and over sized masquerade masks with stars twinkling about! And and, you must not forget to wear your favorite halloween shirt. No no, must not forget that, indeed...
And what's that you say? Another hooting from the tree? Why yes, another cuddly owl, I see ;)
Hoot hoot!
I have never been a ghost on Halloween, have you?
But I have dressed up in costumes where no one recognized me. I was once the evil queen from Sleeping Beauty, you know in the head dress and crown? No one recognized me, and it was so strange to be unrecognizable.
I think being a pink or teal ghostie is in store for the future, for sure.
Ghosties and a wolf, oh my!
A couple little gals wanted to wear pretty dresses, so they are not very Halloweenie in feel...
However, I am quite certain that they have a few tricks and treats up their sleeves ;)
All of these original little drawings are now in my shop .
Now I have to go clean. Mister Lovee has been out of town and I want to have dinner and a clean house waiting when he arrives this evening. Phewey, always on the go it seems ;)
See you sooooon!
Love, V
