Shall I begin with tales of art, or tales of life today? Hmmmm, let's, see....
How about we choose art?
This tale begins almost a year ago, when...
I began a dance with a...
Certain Monsieur Peacock...
By the by, he glimmers like a hologram, on command ;)
I met Monsieur Peacock, at the request of a lovely lass, who asked me to perhaps incorporate a fancy peacock into one of my paper dress paintings.
Peacock jumped onto canvas quickly, in early spring...
Then we patiently waited for ballerina, to share her bliss in dance, at just the right time....
So that I could try to capture her feeling, just so...
Summer came and went, Monsieur Peacock got a few eyes, I worked in the garden, I started a handful of new paintings...
All the while, spending elaborate tea times with my feathered friend.
In autumn the clouds came...
And with that, the dance ensued...
It was an emotionally moving dance, that peacock dance...
And then, it was time for peacock and ballerina to voyage far far away...
To their loving new home, and so, I said good-bye...
But, not without a tasty canvas print to pop into the shop.
The Peacock Dance canvas print can now be found in my online shop.
Hopefully more pieces I have been working on will emerge sooner, rather than later.
Life has a way of twisting and turning, and throwing all sorts of unexpected happenings at me. Oh, at you too you say? Oh thank goodness I am not alone in that ;)
So, as for life...
I am feeling much better, thank you so so so much for egging me on to feel better, it helped very much. I marched on, even if still a tad swirly in the head.
The days are so pretty. Even a hint of frost in mornings can't hurt the growing things, because day time warms up so nicely. Arizona can be weird. A tinge of frost in the morning, warm by noon. Weirdness, I tell ya.
It has also been raining, so a moist ground is such a treat around here.
Pumpkin babes are still growing outside the cottage and in the back garden.
I can't believe it myself...
There has been soup on the stove. And cooking pumpkins + gobbling spicy pumpkin muffins before a photo could be taken. I had 3 over the course of a couple of days. I let Mister have all the apple pie.
As you know, I looove baking sweets and feeding them to Mister. But, I prefer eating savory myself.
The soup turned out delicious in the end. Following Mombie's tips to saute all my veggies, and do all my spicing up, right before the soup was done (the beans took about 4-5 hours to cook, I love the barley in there). It worked perfectly.
In the garden there are lots of roses. Is it strange that there are so many blooms, pumpkins and tomatoes out there, or did I never notice the spring in autumn before? I think perhaps our winter is mostly in January and February.
Pretty coral petals...
I planted my ranunculus and freesia bulbs.
Then, I went out and sprinkled all my poppy and wild flower seeds.
The good luck was that, the day after I sprinkled all my seeds, we had a huge rain storm, so hopefully, the seeds got pushed into the earth and will gift lots of blooms in spring.
Walks in the garden are so nice right now. The summer heat doesn't let one appreciate anything. So, cool weather is a ginormous gift...
Do I sound like a broken record?
I just had déjà vu of telling you that already.
I am turning into one of those old ladies that repeats the same story over and over and over, haha!
Oh goodness!
One more garden thing, I am loving watching the biennials get huge, especially the ones that will bloom for the first time in summer 2012. Such as the hollyhocks below...
Gardening to me, makes time go by even faster than it already does.
There is always something going on for the future, and time slips away at crazy rapid rates.
Isn't this color combo so....
Delicious?
My wonderful neighbor says that the colors are so delicious, you almost want to bite into the candy colors. So right!
Anyhow, I am about to veer, and spiral into babble. So, before I start talking about exploding commercial printers in my office (and HP discontinuing service and the product altogether), plus woes of getting a new huger one (which is awesome in the end), unexpected upgrades and purchases and this and that, I am going to take a deep breath, and leave ;)
Go with the flow, that is my mantra for the day.
Yesterday I had a stressful thing happen, and I decided to go with the flow, and then it turned out to be that the outcome, was even better than I could have hoped for.
So, letting go sometimes really is key.
Have a beautiful day!!!
Off to paint...
Love, V
