New Year's Wishes!

Time time time...

The time has come!

A new year begins, and we have things to get in order, don't we?

It depends of course, what you see as order.

I am not one for making New Year's resolutions.  Let's be honest, I won't keep them.  Will you?  So, for me, no resolutions.  Of course, I am super supportive of anyone who makes resolutions, and keeps them.  Amazing!

For my non rule following self, I like something that I can work with.  You?

To me, it's all about wishes.

Wishes make me feel like, there is a tinge of possibility in my hopes and dreams.

In turn, allowing me to feel more positive about a new year.

To me there are all types of wishes.

Some wishes are like a prayer, others are a yearning, a desire.

And still, there are others that are deep seeded hopes.

Such as the wishes we long for with every shooting star we catch a glimpse of.  Or the wishes that find us every year when we blow out birthday candles.

Then there are the wishes that we squinch our eyes together for, as we clasp our hands together and murmur "please please please please......"

Those are the wishes we need to set free!

Make your wish.

Make ten...

Make endless wishes.

Make them for you, make them for others.

But by golly, make them!

The more of us that wish together, the grander our voice!

You do believe this to be true, don't you?

Of course you do, I knew I could count on you.

Let's jump on the carousel of dreams...

As they say, a dream is a wish your heart makes.

Dream big, dream small.

Then again, is any dream or wish too big or too small?

Let them spin faster and faster....

I know you believe.

I also know that there are times that believing, and tasting the magic, doesn't feel right.  You know, the ups and downs of life.

But, if we hang on to a thread, there will be a day when the magic finds us again.

It is always with us, even if tucked ever so deep, isn't it?

I was listening to the radio the other day, and that song came on from the 70's that says-

"Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man that he didn't already have....."

(America, Tin man)

I cried over the stove, whilst really ingesting that phrase.

A song I have heard 20 million times, and that phrase smacked me right upside the head for the very first time last week.

I thought, wow, ain't that the truth!?

We all have just what we need, all the time, tucked right inside of us.

All we have to do is believe, and have faith in ourselves.

Let's wish the best for ourselves and those we love.  Health, happiness, less stress.  Let's wish the best for our mother earth and all of it's people and creatures, and growing things.

Then, let's throw a bunch of extra wishes in for good measure.

No wish is too grand, too greedy, too silly.

Let's gather our wishes together, and then set them free this week.

What do you say?

It never hurts to try.

If you want to keep your wish private, you can wish for your hearts secret wish to come true.

Let's dream big wishes!!

My immediate wishes are of course, for the health and safety of my family. I worry about my Mom and Dad and brother and sister. I worry about Mister Lovee and the pups. I wish and pray for their safety and well being.

I have wishes for the health of my grandparents, that my grandmother continues to do well, while taking on the difficult task of caring for my grandfather's health.

I have huge wishes for our globe. For children all over the world. And for our country. The economy, and the stress it brings to so many...

For myself, I wish for peace and courage and joyous days. I wish to stay healthy and I wish for the ability to continue to grow and learn and be supportive and positive in my self. (is that a proper phrase?)

I also have a handful of secret wishes. Of course ;)

I hope and wish that all of your heart's greatest wishes come true, and that you have great peace and happiness in your soul.

Happy New Year, Beautiful Soul!

I have made some resolutions for this year, which is unusual for me, as I normally don't....amongst them being a wish for improved vitality thru self-care and a focus on health.

There are so many wishes to be made, so many dreams to be realized....I hope my Little Girl feels loved at her saddest moments, that my Hubby stops worrying about what else he can do to take care of us, and instead, feels satisfied that what he is doing is appreciated ...and enough.

I wish to never have to leave home for work again....that I can pour myself into my art and earn an income doing it :)

Wishing is like breathing to children....so much can be learned from them...

2012 is going to be an amazing year....I just know it!

I wish for the world to find peace. Of course, I mean, who doesn't? I wish for the peace of people around me and also to find peace inside myself.

I do have a handful of secret wishes as well, ones I share with only myself and my little kitty :) Hehe...

I also wish for the teachers of the world to understand that stress is not good for children and to hopefully obliterate homework.

I wish for whimsy in my life. I wish for myself to find the path of life that will lead me out of the rut and hum-drum daily routine that I have had to endure. I know that if I just veer from the yellow brick road, I will find something wonderful waiting for me :)

AHA! I think wishes are the stuff that resolutions are made of. You have gone straight to the heart of the matter; I think most people are in the mind set of resolutions being "enforced" or one more thing on the to-do list.

But but but.....

....if the thing that is motivating a resolution is really a wish, then, that is where the focus should be!

I think I like your idea of wishes much better than resolutions (which I never bother with). I'm always trying to better something, me, my home, my attitude, etc.

My big wish for this year is that we get to take that vacation my grandchild and I have been talking about. her wish has it including Nick resort so she can be slimed (I guess you have to be 9 for that to be a dream) and Lego land, mine is just to sit on the beach, my feet in the sand, a book in my hand and no worry about what time of day it is and what I need to be doing.

Just to comment on your "About a Boy" post: My husband and I adopted 2 kitty fur babies right before Christmas. Our 2 first kitties, Miss Rumphius and Emma, lived to the ripe old ages of 18 and 23. But it had been 2 years since our 23 year old girl, Emma, passed. Family and life challenges kept us from adopting new family members until 3 weeks ago. We went to a local shelter and brought home our new girls: Violet and Clara. How we love them! Our furry family members just complete joys for us.
