This is me sitting on my bed.
Sulking.
With a note saying that, if you are visiting me and have found that the following link is taking you to a Network Solutions page: afancifultwist.com
Where it says that my services expired in December of 2012.
(I know, in the future, spooky!)
Instead of to my blog (here) -
It is because there is a technical glitch that is being fixed as I type.
(which some folks have noticed)
Network Solutions was trying to tell me that part of my huge payment in September, had not been made (which I made over the phone with a sales rep, bad idea). And, that (months later) many of my services were now showing up as expired, and it would cost me hundreds more to reinstate my services and fix the situation.
Me = so confused
Luckily, after two hours on the phone this morning, and a copy of my credit card statement with proof of my payment -
They agree that I did in fact pay. For sure.
And, that I shouldn't have to come up with more doubloons to reinstate anything.
But, it will take 3 days to fix.
And then, that link will come to my blog again.
Argh.
Trivial.
Totally trivial.
But, still annoying.
Don't you just loathe getting on the phone to deal with such things?
It makes me anxious and crazy.
Turns me into a mean little girl who wants to cry on the playground and kick dirt.
But, I am ever so glad when it gets resolved, yay!
So, let's hope it does all get resolved soon.
For now, you will find me...
In the garden digging three foot holes and putting in 12 ft. posts, in an attempt to build something extra fun.
I pretty much did most of the work yesterday, but it is so glorious and sunny that I have an insatiable urge to keep digging!

ps: Mini Vanessa was made by lovely Patricia, right here...

100's of dollars for your web hosting? I would be changing providers if I were you! I love your wee mini me doll <3 Happy New year lovely Miss Vanessa xx

I can understand your annoyance-at least it is getting fixed! I remember Patricia's doll. She was in the travelling doll project in my group and she does make lovely dolls. I made one of hers a little red outfit. Yours is very sweet!
Keep calm and carry on, as they (all!) say.

Tallulah!! Love your name! Have I told you that before? I
know, so true, too much mula! Well, it is for several different services I
have with them, not just one, and it adds up. So sad that we are not in an
age of customer service.....Oh well, cest la vie ;)
Happy New Year to you tooooo darling you!!

Oh, a little red outfit sounds just up my alley ;)) Ah yes, so
true!! Keep calm and carry on, that is they key always I agree!!! I
mean, some times you have to freak out, then get calm, then have a piece of cake
or a run or a vodka, then carry on right? It is such a good excuse
to have a Shirley temple ;) Looove, V

I hate those phone calls too. I mean REALLY REALLY hate them.
Have you tried Rackspace for your hosting? They founded their business on Fanatical Support for customers and it shows. Costs a tiny bit more, but well worth it.

I am all sulky too today, bleh. Let's build magical things instead.

You know, today isn't my day either. I really want to do something creative to take my mind off of life--and I see that's what you're doing. Deep breaths, peace, everything will be all right.
Let's create!

hey V,
Im impressed by how gracefully you handled this mess, i would have been pulling my hair out! Well, i hope tomorrow is a better day(although mondays are never fun). Perhaps you will wake up from an amazing dream and have the inspiration to create something beautiful, that will take your mind off of life, if even for a few hours.
wishing you a great Monday!
xoxo, Ariel

That would have been scary. But I still don't really get all the expenses. I've used my blog through blogger for about four years and never paid a cent! Hope it all works out quickly. Love the doll- so sweet!

The non-humanoid glitches don't bother me nearly so much as incompetent customer service with real live people that creates such nightmares for the clients to have to go to battle over! So glad you were able to handle it with dignity and Grace and get everything sorted out and resolved in your favor. And that you have turned your drama into a positive thing with Magical Creativeness... you ROCK!
Happy New Year from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian

Miss Wendy, its because I also have a websitehosting and builder
toolvanessavalencia.com with them, plus about 40 domain names ( i know
insane) and all the web forwarding etc. Free rocks
;)

Lovely Dawn, I think you hit the nail on the head! The anxiety with
such glitches is in the daunting-ness (if I can use that word) of having to deal
with the customer service folks. You know, just last month, I spoke to the
guy who I renewed my services with, and I told him something seemed fishy with
our initial transaction in September, and he told me, dont worry, it is all
taken care of, and sort of blew me off. Argh, yes, that is the annoying
part. Having to talk to 3 people for 2 hours, to fix what one rep said was
okay and taken care of. Makes me want to freak out. Sigh... Alas, it
seems, knock on wood, that we are on the road to fixing it. YAY!!!
Thank you for always being so awesome!

Jessica, tomorrow will be awesome, I just know it ;)

Ariel, you are so sweet!! My dream life has been crazy active lately,
what about yours? I cant wait to see what tonight brings. The most
heart touching thing is that, my brother, who I am 12 years older than... has
been appearing in my dreams as a 3 year old for nights in a row. I get to
talk to him and play with him, like I did when he was a baby. And kiss his
face all over, and it has been unreal! Almost sad to wake up. Dreams
are so wondrous!!!

Oh me, those types of situations make me anxious and irritable too! So glad it is on it's way to being fixed though. Love the dolly!
Hugs,
Jamie :)
p.s. have fun digging holes, tee hee ;) ;)

But at least while you're sulking you can sit on a comfy bed in a cute striped dress and sip a wee cup of tea. Do you have one for me??
Ooh! I can't wait to see what you've been making '-)

Well, I don't know if what I'd have been doing would be called 'sulking' !!

I am so sorry you had to put up with the people at Network Solutions. That was a bummer. Hope your financial worries all get smoothed over.
Interesting dreams you are having about your brother being a baby. I am sure it has a meaning to it. I try to capture the meaning of my dreams, and when I have repeat dreams, I usually try to find a meaning...sometimes I talk to my youngest sister about them. She has some good depth perception about dreams.
Anyway, make a cup of hot tea and honey for your self in the morning...I know you are asleep as I type this.
I was at the Pasadena Rose Bowl Flea Market today...it was mind boggling...I found one vendor who had aqua glass bottles for sale from $3.00 to $5.00...not the $30 you see everywhere else...I almost fell over when I saw the wonderful prices. They also had the purple glass that is aged from the sun. So very lovely! It was $10 to get in to the flea market at 8 A.M. until 4:30 P.m. Lots of antiques and collectibles and tons of vintage clothing...you would go gaga there~
(The second Sunday of every month, unless there is a football game going on. Rose Bowl Flea Market is all you have to type to find them online) It is WELL worth going to. And I very slowly went down every tiny isle knowing things can be hidden from view.
Hope your week goes well after this...
love and hugs,
Miss Teresa
P.S. There is also an early bird rate to get in very early $20 and also a $15 rate. I guess that is when some of the celebrities show up to beat the crowds...oh and also an $8 dollar fee at 9 A.M.

May I say that you do look quite adorable when you sulk. ; ) I am very sorry for your technical difficulties as of late. "Oh bother" as Pooh would say. I know things will get snap happier for you this week, and I can't wait to see what you share with us next.

I hope that your troubles are over and wish you only good and happy things for you.
"It is always something" We wouldn't be human if there wasn't something in the wind....
I can't wait to see the new happening that you are planning.

Since it costs you to host this wonderful site, I will make it a point to order even more of your wonderful art work. Your site is therapy for me-much cheaper than lying on a couch somewhere:)
Sorry about your woes with your site.
And phone oh I have stories. I was having difficulty with a credit card co one day and hung up in tears. But the very NICE lady I had been on the phone with called me back and got on another line with someone who fixed my problem.
Most recently I was talking to a woman from my bank and my mom's bank. I closed my mom's account after her death but they sent a payment through (I had made that same payment thru my account) and were charging me 36 for an insufficient charge, 9 for a maintance fee, and another 36 for the 9 that wasn't there. On a closed account. I kept asking how do I owe you anything on a closed account. Anyway I was so upset I thought I was going to have a heart attack. (I think I had my first panic attack). She kept telling me what I needed to do and I told her I was going to hang up the phone, go to the local branch and talk to someone with some sense. And that nice lady knew me from times I brought my mom in so resolved the issue.
Did you ever notice how people these days seem to forget without US they don't have a job.
I hope things are working for you soon. (And sorry about such a long post).

Blah... yucky... It's like they are holding your money hostage and you are in protracted negotiations. I soooo know what you went through grrrrr. I'm sending big happy thoughts your way full of pink bubble gum bubbles, cotton candy clouds, sweet tea rivers and chocolate teddy bears.
Have a better day.

Ever so sorry to hear of your woes. Makes me want to give minnie-you a minnie- hug. I am, however, glad to know that I'm not the only one who wants to cry and kick dirt when trying to fix a wrong over the phone. Sometimes I feel crazy! Like, why am I so upset? I don't know. Good luck to you. May your rightful Internet doodads and such be fixed speedily. (I've got to get a minnie me as well, too fun!)

Who invented telephones and computers anyway? Life was much less stressful without them!
Posted by: William Charlebois | January 10, 2012 at 02:09 PM
Argh! Yes - that is always so frustrating. To be at the mercy of computer glitches and all that other fun stuff. Glad it is being all settled now - but taking care of all the hassles does indeed waste so much precious time. xoxo

Oh, I hate it when that stuff happens! At least they are admitting that they have made the mistake and not you.
