Art, Tragedy & Silly? (cut the drama, ha)

I am back from my little road trip.  Did a little painting to help my soul today.  In the form of these two little loves. In the shop now...

As for the trip...

It was nice to get away with Mr. Lovee.  Sadly, the trip was strange.  It started like this...

And, very quickly, turned to this... So much for driving into the sunset...

Waiting for 3 hours.  In the car.  With a girl who can't sit still.  Just when we thought we were out of the woods...

Now, we are not freeway/city folks.  We are back road, stay out of traffic folks.  You can imagine how delighted we were. The freeway was closed in both directions. It was havoc.  A huge light post was down across the entire freeway. YIKES! Anyhow, it took us 6 hours to get to our destination.  Hopefully noone was hurt...

We made up for all of our frustrations the next few days, by ruining all those hard work outs, with the following events...Use your imagination...

What a charming town Prescott, Arizona is.  We were in such a whirlwind, I didn't even get to make contact with Sadira.  It is too hard to do, with a man with you.  Next time, girls only!!

We had the loveliest dinner, it was delicious.  But, perhaps a little too delicious.  I ended up getting the worst belly ache, and it was alka-seltzer and bed for me.  But, the food at this place was incredible and the music was fantastic! (129 1/2 Jazz Grille, Prescott Az.)

The Hassayampa hotel was lovely as ever.  However, there was a group of people staying there that were so obnxious and loud. Really, out of control. They were running around slamming doors, and had a bunch of us standing in the hall freaking out at 2am.  It went on until 5a.m.  The hotel said they would send up security, but it didn't happen.  We were told we would get some money back. We'll see.  It was a shame, as the hotel is such a favorite place.  And, it is not like we get to go there often...

We found out we had to come home early to make an appointment that was requested last minute.  We got back, and the people blew us off.  Never returning calls, and having us wait all day without knowing.. Argh.

The drive home was rough.  It was very very long... Let me share with you through pictures, what happens when you put a girl in a car with a desert scenery for 5 hours.  WARNING, this girl turned very silly, and had to find any way to amuze herself.  The magazines had been read, the bubble gum chewed, and the books flipped through...

One word. Hairdo's. Once I flipped open the mirror, it was all over. Funny faces and hair tricks were in store...

I had had enough of hearing Mr. Lovee's "learning" things.  Ruins and such were interesting, but "NOooo Mooore!"

       Img_6182

Ruins.

Here is a montage of my rapid downhill spiral... It began with the bubble gum search...

So, there is the embarrassing truth.  Mr. Lovee said, can you be any more vain.  And I thought, I am not being vain, I am being silly.  And, sharing it with you, which I don't share me often...  Oh, and, Did you see how the hair got taller and taller?  Hopefully you got a chuckle out of my utter silliness...

I'll tell you what, if Miss Jungle Dream Pagoda  had been with me, she would have been all over my silly hairdo adventure. She is a wonderful girl! I adore her.  She so totally gets me, it's really not even funny.  This is what came my way from her.  I am speechelss, smitten and in love with my new treasures from her. Thank you so much Miss Lisa-Gabrielle!! xxo

I forgot to tell you what really saved me in the car on the way back.  It was "This American Life," talking about camp, on NPR.  Boy, do I have camp stories... next post... I adore Ira Glass!!! I bet you do too???

A 3-day Wedding (not my own), A Strange Old Mining Town (Ghosts) & a Girl who is not used to...

Back from Bisbee & it's official.  They are hitched.  And, your friend here, is back, unsure of what to make of her experience.  Risa knows, I told her late last night, in the form of an "Ode to the 3-day wedding".  She got my "just back vibe" on the whole thing.   For now, let's start with L-O-V-E.

Love is great. The couple is incredible. He, a commercial Realtor and Tennis Pro.  She, a doctor from India.  Well, maybe she was born here?  Not sure, but a gorgeous fascinating girl, for sure.  People came in from all over the world for the big event.  It was beautiful.  The couple was very busy and had lots of events happening at different places every night - in order to accomodate such a huge crowd in such a small town... We did not get to see them often.  But they lavished us with very fancy dinners, cocktails & lunches.

As for me.

I have been known to be a Little Miss Goodie Two Shoes. I try to be nice and proper and courteous.  I try to stay out of trouble.  (okay okay, those of you who know me, don't burst my bubble, ha) But this weekend... I was shocked, as I was not treated as the sweetest girl in the world at all... (I think they saw my devlish grin peeking out)

And, really, if I try to be on good behaviour and I am reprimanded, then perhaps I should put on my naughty shoes more often...

Here I was, sitting in a corner. Minding my own business. Then someone saw my camera and was like. "Miss no pictures, there is copyrighted work in the restaurant." WHAT?  I want a picture of the guests, not the walls???  Then, I was on the street, "Miss no pictures."  Copyrighted work in the windows... At the reception there were no seats left.  We were all sandwiched in by the bar.  This little lady and I, quietly nibbling on our vegan delicacies.  The owner, "don't stand at the bar, you are in the way, I am trying to sell drinks"  Us, thinking, "there are people with seats eating at the bar. We are standing here, nowhere else to go buddy!"  Me, "I am outta here." Mr. Lovee, "That guy should feel lucky he has all this business due to Carl's wedding." (plus really, the guy was making a fortune off the groom already, 3 nights at the same restaurant. As for the drinks, he would bill the groom for them at the end)

There were other things, but I won't bore you.  It was ridiculous stuff, like being picked on, for no reason. I thought this was the capitol of "free to be."  Not the case. Oh well...

As for attire, I did not wear the gold dress.  I'll save it for another occassion.  It was an outdoor summer wedding. I would have been the "lunatic in the Gold dress..." Well, we could have added it to my list... Hee heee...But really, that was the last thing I needed. I wore black.  It was more dinners and such... And trust me, there was already a woman there who had the "lunatic in the dress" department covered.  Well, let me just say this.  The women were appalled and the men were in  "eyeball heaven."  Wives having to pick there husbands eyeballs off the table and pop them back into their husbands heads...Funny!

It was not all bad.  The hotel was lovely as usual. The Copper Queen, a haunted place.  The weather was lovely too.  See if you can spot the cowboy ghost in the hotel.. Weird, eh?

Anyhow,  here is a montage of the photos I was able to take for you.  Ghosts and all... (Click on any to enlarge) A couple are of Tombstone, as you pass through there to get to Bisbee.

Bisbee is all stairs and hills.  Great workout weekend for sure!

Well, that's all for now. Sorry for the lack of me and Mr. Lovee pics.  At the events there is no way to haul a huge camera around. Plus, when I did try, well you know what happened... Next time.  Or, Maybe we'll dress up and pose, pretending to be at an event?? I don't want to share the frowning and hot and miserable photo ops.... HA.....

       Img_5431

I am off to work in the studio.  See you all soon...

Good-bye Bisbee, until next time....

       Img_5459

Oh! One last thing.  I was standing in the lobby, showing the manager my ghost photos and asking ghost questions. They said, "There really are ghosts, look, this is a log where everyone who has spotted a ghost shares their stories." "Sit and read while you wait for your husband." (I have no husband, but okay...)  So I am flipping through this huge book that dates back to the opening of the hotel... All of a sudden I stop.  I decide to read one ghostly account, and this is what it says: "A ghost farted in the elvator 100 years ago, and it still smells."  So much for real ghosts.. Oh well.. hee hahahaheheee... I chuckled, hopped in Mr. Lovee's car, and off we went....
