I am back from my little road trip. Did a little painting to help my soul today. In the form of these two little loves. In the shop now...
Sometimes... Acrylic, Ink Illustraion, and Fabric Collage, on 9.5" x 10" wood.
A Magic Fruit tree... Acrylic, Ink Illustraion, and fabric collage on canvas. 11" x 14" x .75" depth. (Hand painted and cut, collage stars)
As for the trip...
It was nice to get away with Mr. Lovee. Sadly, the trip was strange. It started like this...
And, very quickly, turned to this... So much for driving into the sunset...
Waiting for 3 hours. In the car. With a girl who can't sit still. Just when we thought we were out of the woods...
Now, we are not freeway/city folks. We are back road, stay out of traffic folks. You can imagine how delighted we were. The freeway was closed in both directions. It was havoc. A huge light post was down across the entire freeway. YIKES! Anyhow, it took us 6 hours to get to our destination. Hopefully noone was hurt...
We made up for all of our frustrations the next few days, by ruining all those hard work outs, with the following events...Use your imagination...
What a charming town Prescott, Arizona is. We were in such a whirlwind, I didn't even get to make contact with Sadira. It is too hard to do, with a man with you. Next time, girls only!!
We had the loveliest dinner, it was delicious. But, perhaps a little too delicious. I ended up getting the worst belly ache, and it was alka-seltzer and bed for me. But, the food at this place was incredible and the music was fantastic! (129 1/2 Jazz Grille, Prescott Az.)
The Hassayampa hotel was lovely as ever. However, there was a group of people staying there that were so obnxious and loud. Really, out of control. They were running around slamming doors, and had a bunch of us standing in the hall freaking out at 2am. It went on until 5a.m. The hotel said they would send up security, but it didn't happen. We were told we would get some money back. We'll see. It was a shame, as the hotel is such a favorite place. And, it is not like we get to go there often...
We found out we had to come home early to make an appointment that was requested last minute. We got back, and the people blew us off. Never returning calls, and having us wait all day without knowing.. Argh.
The drive home was rough. It was very very long... Let me share with you through pictures, what happens when you put a girl in a car with a desert scenery for 5 hours. WARNING, this girl turned very silly, and had to find any way to amuze herself. The magazines had been read, the bubble gum chewed, and the books flipped through...
One word. Hairdo's. Once I flipped open the mirror, it was all over. Funny faces and hair tricks were in store...
I had had enough of hearing Mr. Lovee's "learning" things. Ruins and such were interesting, but "NOooo Mooore!"
Ruins.
Here is a montage of my rapid downhill spiral... It began with the bubble gum search...
So, there is the embarrassing truth. Mr. Lovee said, can you be any more vain. And I thought, I am not being vain, I am being silly. And, sharing it with you, which I don't share me often... Oh, and, Did you see how the hair got taller and taller? Hopefully you got a chuckle out of my utter silliness...
I'll tell you what, if Miss Jungle Dream Pagoda had been with me, she would have been all over my silly hairdo adventure. She is a wonderful girl! I adore her. She so totally gets me, it's really not even funny. This is what came my way from her. I am speechelss, smitten and in love with my new treasures from her. Thank you so much Miss Lisa-Gabrielle!! xxo
I forgot to tell you what really saved me in the car on the way back. It was "This American Life," talking about camp, on NPR. Boy, do I have camp stories... next post... I adore Ira Glass!!! I bet you do too???
