I know I just posted that last post. However, I had to run over and tell you all something that I find quite fascinating! There was this painting I created last year, that recently, went to live in the most amazing place...
(The writing you see there at the bottom of the painting is this - "The story would always be the same. The seasons would change, the years would go by. But, the Strange Beautiful Lady would walk up the hill. In her long ball gown and sparkling jeweled crown. As if everything were candy and scones. She with her children in hand, would go outside to frolick and play. People from near and people from far, would listen and know that bewildering tune she sang. As if letting out it from deep in her heart, her little sonic art. 'Ah yes, the children will play, they will dance and they'll sway, on a perfectly lovely and gloomy day, they say, they say'..." - Vanessa Valencia)
After the painting had gone to live in its wonderful new home, an unusual thing happened.
I have a little brother, who makes movies, while going to movie making University. When he got sight of this painting, he had a little plan. You see, he and I both are secret composers of music. Him on any instrument. I, on the piano. You have seen my girl, who assists me in such endeavors, many times. Here she is again La Pianola...(you know, the French white spinet I took paint to)
Anyhow... My little brother Adam did quite the magical thing. A couple of weeks ago, I had my mother calling, saying, "Vanessa, Vanessa, can you hear this??" as she obviously held the phone up to some sounds... And I exclaimed, "Oooo, what is it, are you watching a movie??" And she said, "No, Adam composed a little song for your Strange Lady painting." And I said, "What?? Wonderful!!!"
My brother composes all sorts of music. Many of the songs haunting and heart string tugging. So, I am here to share with you the little tune to Strange Beautiful Lady II. I am dedicating it to the most wonderful owner it ever could have dreamed of living with...
Excuse the poor photo, it really is the song we were after sharing and had some trouble getting it into YouTube. If you have time, I hope you can listen to the whole thing. It is haunting and beautiful. Thank you Adam!!!
I have to say. This little tune has me seeing the strange beautiful lady, walking up the hill....Did you know, that on the other side of the hills there lies a... Well, that is yet to come in the next in line of this ongoing series...
I am off for now, as I am busy creating in the studio...I finished her this afternoon, she is in my shop.
Reverie...
See you soon!!! xxo (You can also find a print of Strange Beautiful lady, on canvas, in my shop)
