It was one of those late afternoons in the Mad Tea Garden. Where all was aglow, and characters peeked out from behind trees...
Whispers echoed through the garden, it's time, it's time...
Welcome to the 2nd annual Mad Tea Party, The Mad Hatter sang, as he took a deep bow...
Little guests made their way through Wonderland, down the path, marching behind the bunny soldiers. All eager to begin the festivities...
A wish ticket is all it takes my friends, to enter into the maddest place on earth...
Birds peered through the trees, into the Mad Tea Party, as little hands paid their toll...
One by one, they filled the wish box...
The Mad Hatter was delighted to greet little faces, and fill them with treats. The more treats, the madder everyone gets, he proclaimed...
Hurry Hurry, little faces said to one another...
So kind of you as well, to join us for tea...
It seemed a wee Alice had made her way into Wonderland...
And boy oh boy, was she prepared...
She was accompanied by her handsome brother and her beautiful Mama. Who wore a hat, encrusted with rare flowers, just for the occasion...
The Mad Hatter was being extra cheeky...
Up to all sorts of nonsense...
After a hearty dose of sugar, he started spinning, and twirling and acting a bit loopy...
And then, he did the most curious thing. He offered his hat, his magical Mad Hat, to a wee Mad Hatter in the making...
Why, me oh my! I do believe he is in fact, The next Mad Hatter in line ;)
With that, the party got into full swing!
So much eye candy, real candy & yummy treats, that the children did not know where to begin...
A Mad Tea Party fantasy indeed!!
Oooooo, aaaaaaaaa...
Scrumdillyumptious!!
Please dig in, and don't be shy. Why, this place is all about boundless fun, no reason, no rhyme...
Fairies flew about, peeking in, and of course were invited to join...
The sky began to turn into cotton candy. Perfection! What more could we ask for?
Under those magical skies, we frolicked and played, and nibbled and munched!
Cherries, cherries, cherries abound...
Gumballs make us smile...
Go on, try one...
How could I possibly describe how much fun we are having? Pouring and...
Sipping...
Perhaps this is the best face to describe what a blast we are having. Yes yes, I am sure of it!
So much fun! The children are allowed to go bonkers. If anything breaks it is no biggie at all (although nothing did break). That is the main mindset to keep. It is after-all, Wonderland...
We sit and enjoy last year's Mad Tea Party, which was in Artful Blogging Magazine. Wow, it doesn't seem so long ago, and yet here we are at part 2 of the madness... Enjoy every moment indeed!!
Yep, looks like Mister Frog is enjoying every minute. Perhaps he ate too many cupcakes. At least he looks happy ;)
Just when we thought, it couldn't get any yummier, some of my doll creations join the party with boxes of ribbon candy... YAY!
Oh, and someone thought the toadstools were the biggest hit ever. Our little Miss Alice could not get over the fact that this party was filled with toadstools...
What a delightful evening of games and treats, and even sharing of the Mad Hat ;)
As the sun started to go down, little Alice longed for a bit of music...
Soon her wish was granted.
Songs could be heard in the distance, dancing through the trees. She put down her cup, and twirled...
And twirled...
Soon, making it through the Wonderland woods, The Mad Tea Party trio joined us!!
Delightful sounds!!
Little Miss Alice spread sparkles all over, from my (I mean her), seemingly endless golden sparkle supply ;)
As the band played well into the night...
Little by little everyone drifted off, as Mister Frog thanked everyone for stopping by, and talked about meeting up for another Mad Tea Party next year...
The next morning, as I was cleaning up the party mess...
I came across a key. A key that opens the door to next year's Mad Tea Party... How curiously wonderful, I thought...
Just then, I saw the Mad Hatter Ride by, out of the corner of my eye.
As he left a trail of magic behind...
Huge thanks to all of you who are participating, as well as to all of you who stop by for the Mad Tea Party!! We are delighted here at A Fanciful Twist, that you could swing by!!
I also want to thank my friend Linda (of Fire Ranch Glass Works), who is an artist extraordinaire, and lives 32 seconds from me. She is mother to the two beautiful children (who I think should be in the movies) who made my tea party extra special.
