There is an extra curious, golden illuminating light, that happens every so often here in my neck of the desert...
It seems to begin with a sky thick with clouds, who tempt us with rain.
Somehow, the rain catches a different air wave, and the clouds begin to break up.
Such very thick clouds.
Hazy orange golden sepia light pours through the cracks.
Casting the most intense curious light over the land.
Where everything glows in muted citrus tones.
Changing with each minute of the setting sun...
Until it hovers over the mountains in the far west, and clouds right above my head are illuminated from behind with this curious harvest colored light.
I looked up the other day and gasped.
Clouds in tones known only to painters from other times.
From other worlds.
Shades of clouds that only those such as Michelangelo would mix up on their palette.
I gasped again.
I thought about cathedrals with incredible sky paintings on the ceilings.
The other worldly experience of that.
And yet, there it was.
Held by nature, in the sky itself...
A passionate and captivating sky.
Reds and oranges and blues...
Thick tufts of condensed water vapor, floating in the sky.
Creating colors and depth - art.
Just when we think that art enhances reality, that skies like this only exist in painted cathedral domes....
Nature sets us straight.
Because really, reality is greater than anything we can think up.
It's free, glorious, mind blowing inspiration.
Endless and plentiful.
Fascinating and mesmerizing.
As I stared up at these pumpkin orange clouds, someone up above shook the proverbial Etch-a-Sketch...
Then.
Cotton Candy skies emerged.
Shifting with the light and wind.
Two fairy tales told back to back.
There for anyone who takes the time to stop.
Look up.
And...
See.
Feel.
Breathe.
Gasp.
Admire.
Bliss Sigh.
And maybe throw a twirl in for good measure.
:)

ps: You all will never guess the ridiculous thing that happened to me.
SO silly.
I've fallen and I can't get up brings a whole other level to the tale :)
I slipped, flipped, crashed and nearly killed myself in the shower a couple days ago.
My first time falling in the shower.
Ever.
(shower tub combo)
I am bruised and battered worse than I have ever been in my life.
Soap under my left foot, and before I knew it, I was flying up into the air.
I landed on the bath tub edge, on my right hip tooshie side.
With a mass crash of horror.
Flipped around too.
I hurt my right hip and right tooshcake really really really bad.
Really bad.
I was thrown on the tub floor crying for what feels like hours.
The pain was so incredible.
But I got iced and salve rubbed after.
The pain felt like I was missing a huge chunk of flesh.
But I wasn't.
Just a really deep hit.
The bone throbbed and surged pain down my whole leg and foot.
Luckily, I am not broken.
Just swollen and bruised.
I am gasp worthy bruised.
Hobbling.
Can't sit real well, or walk real well.
Can't sleep well.
And hobble when I walk.
My whole core aches.
I can't WAIT to be back to normal.
My hip and backside are so hurt, it isn't funny.
And my left shoulder.
I have a bruise that is about 12 inches long.
Goes horizontally over my whole right tooshkin (derrier) and over my hip, down my leg.
Why am I telling you this?
Because, I am taking it as a warning.
Share with my friends.
Please get some anti-slip strips in your shower if it is slippery.
If I wasn't fairly young, with a bit of padding, goodness knows what could have happened.
So, if your shower or tub is slippery in any tiny way, take precautions asap.
Learn from this numbskull.
So you don't end up like me or worse.
I would show you the photo of my bruise, but, that's not an option :)
Trust me, it's massive.
Please be careful yourselves, please!!
At least, blueish black purple is in.
Isn't it?
(For all the years I have never been sick or hurt, this year sure got me didn't it? Weirdness)
