It looks like it's about time for the Easter bunny to make his rounds...
I feel like, here it is Easter...
And I didn't share cascarones or egg wrappers or freebies.
Or remind you of where to find them.
Slaps forehead.
Spring has really caught me.
I have been watching and listening to endless birds.
Seeing green things grow bigger and bigger.
Waiting for millions of little white buds to appear on my climbing roses.
They are here, almost ready to open.
And, yes...
Playing with sugar eggs, still.
Actually...
To be honest -
I became obsessed with dying my sugars, and pressing them into all sorts of molds.
I tried this and that, and oh this and that over there too.
This little tart mold I had worked wonderfully, and while the sugar was still carvable, I made a little dip on the other side, for putting treats in.
I am obsessed.
Yes.
I.
Am.
I am only getting started with this obsession it seems.
Why must I be like this?
Listen to songs until I can't stand them.
Make things obsessively, maniacally?
Madness, I'm certain.
Tutorials for sugar making things here.
Also.
I coaxed the boys into an Easter picture for me.
They didn't seem as annoyed in person as they do in the photo, haha!
I figured it was only fair.
I slept with Miles' fanny on the left side of my head all night.
Not to mention, Matty jumped on top of the bed at 3 a.m. and slept sprawled out over my legs and belly, and stayed there for 4 hours.
As though, it was perfectly fine and normal.
So, needless to say, my sacred slumber has been dogified big time.
And, since they can get away with murder with me, they do ;)
I don't mind though, I am so crazy in love with them.
Oh oh...
Wisteria is showing up here and there in the garden.
Yumm.
And, no stretching the truth here - practically the entire property is carpeted with wild chamomile.
Snow years, we get more than non snow years.
It's also called pineapple weed.
It smells unreal.
There are not words.
The smell is outragous.
Like sweet candy, better than ripe pineapple.
Better than than than...
I don't know what.
Magnificent.
Matty is seeming to feel soooooo much better.
He has another vet visit in a few days.
He is still on a couple meds.
So so so so much better.
I can't believe we almost lost this boy.
(chicken wire everywhere because of rabbits)
He is also filling out, as he had gotten so skinny.
He is eating again, and hugging and loving, and barking.
I notice there is a tinge of not him-ness in his eyes.
But he is almost there.
He came through this ordeal with new white fur around his mouth.
Poor baby.
Morning jogs and walks have been sublime.
Every time I run around the way back, and the sun in coming over the mountain - I gasp.
It's so pretty against the giant apricot tree.
Makes it look all decorated for Easter like this tree.
Well, not exactly, but I can pretend.
I love how when the white blossoms fall off, there are still pink teeny flowers underneath.
And then, the green comes.
So Eastery...
As all the blossoms slowly fall off.
Miles is so willing to have his pic taken.
We tried to coax Matty into this one, but there was no luck at all.
I hope the Easter bunny is good to you.
My Easter puppy is as soft as a bun.
I convinced him to do some day ear shots.
But he was soooo bored.
An abundance of Easter wishes sent your way!!!
I have been working sooo hard in the garden.
Mowing, weeding, washing the last of winter away.
My hands hurt.
Maybe the Easter bunny will tell Mister Lovee I need a day of rest and massage ;)
hint hint.
Hope you have a loooovely weekend!!
Love, V and the boys
ps: Off to make Trix Krispies!!!!
They are soooo pretty!
