It's been a wonderful autumn so far in the Arizona high desert.
I bring some inside...
Pumpkins, dahlias, cosmos, roses, zinnias and basil are abundant.
Soo many giant dahlias.
And such a tall long stem red rose, wowie!
Pewter and lacy things turn up on drizzly autumn days.
I packaged jewel orders and sent them far away.
Then I pulled weeds in the rain.
Beautiful rain like I have rarely experienced.
A delicate drizzle.
All day long, softest of rain.
Ever so soft.
Turning everything quite storybook like.
Making everything glisten and sparkle in the most mesmerizing of ways.
Occasional dappled sunlight through thick clouds.
I was entranced by it.
Working under tender droplets.
Checking on most hugest of huge fairy tale pumpkins.
Storms knocked over my little garden entry arbor, so now it looks a little tattered and leaning.
Goes perfect with the aging pumpkin leaves.
Yet sooo many new babies turn up.
I hope they make it in time.
The vegetable garden is so full.
Loving the rain madly.
In the far northwest corner of the vegetable garden cosmos grow 7-8 feet tall or more.
Finally blooming.
Fuchsia ones too.
All self seeded.
I collect a few little pumpkins and basil.
Checking on two others.
The large green one has grown that size in 2 weeks.
Astoundingly fast growth.
I think everyone knows it's almost time.
Giant zinnias and pumpkins alike.
So many pomegranates burst open from too much rain.
And I stroll around, coolest air, softest droplets, going round and round our little path.
Eating pomegranate seeds in the fairy bower.
The kids keep watch.
Getting soaked as well.
All of us sooo enjoying this glorious gift of weather.
Any sign of a car and off they go!
As I take in the garden desperately.
Voraciously.
Because I know the time is near.
Almost time to say good-bye to the remnants of summer.
But not quite yet.
I have been up to all sorts of little projects.
My studio is a wreck.
