Hello there friends!
A little note to say hiya and thanks bunches for the wonderful Halloween fun.
Wasn't that a blast?
It totally hit the spot.
Must be why I'm now quite under the weather.
Sorry for the bad phone pics, however...
The flowers are current.
My garden is enjoying lots of Arizona rain the last month.
And gifting buckets of flowers.
In fact, it's raining again now.
Autumn is a very nice time in the desert.
A wonderful reprieve from the heat, with the garden coming back for a sort of autumn spring.
Rain is quite welcome in the desert and a beloved treat.
Anywhooooo...
I must have partied waaaay too much.
Going lots of places and doing social things.
Because now I'm quite unwell.
So I'm sipping lots of tea.
Taking lots of vitamins.
I even made a massive pot of homemade chicken soup.
Thanks to ibuprofen for insane aches.
Wow those aches.
My aching lungs.
(insert funny accent as I grasp my chest)
I hope to be back very soon, as I might be heading toward the end of this.
Knock on wood.
It gets me every several years it seems, when I least expect.
I had so many fun Day of the Dead things to share.
Oh well.
I guess, your body tells you when you need a break.
I had just enough energy to open the Pan de Muerto for Dia de los Muertos that my mom gave me.
It's Mexican sweet bread dusted in sugar, a type of pan dulce.
I hope you are doing grand out there in your neck of the woods.
I'd love to hear what you're up to.
It's been such a lovely autumn so far.
The quince are ready to be picked.
There's one last pomegranate waiting for me.
The oranges are about to start leaving the green stage.
And the garden is bursting with roses and zinnias and cosmos.
The fruits tree leaves are just contemplating turning red and orange and yellow.
They're not quite sure yet though :-)
Oh and, the pups are keeping me warm.
Never leaving my side.
Oh and my nanny or manny, the mad hatter, ain't half bad either.
Bringing me ice packs when I have a fever.
And cold grapes and oranges.
So nice.
Hope to be dancing around again very very soon!
Lots of love,
Vanessa
