I almost forgot my yearly tradition!
Cutting paper snowflakes.
(You can find my detailed tutorial here)
I can't think of anything better, during holiday madness, than unplugging & getting cozy somewhere to cut paper.
It's so calming in the midst of crazy days.
I like to cut all sorts of paper.
Tissue paper, sheet music, antique ledgers, wrapping paper & even regular ole computer paper.
I love hunting for curious scraps to cut.
This little piece of ledger is from 1891.
I used the "v" shaped snowflakes cutting method.
Sometimes I glitter them, sometimes I don't.
All the details about how to make your own are right here.
I loooove when little hearts turn up.
Tiny paper hearts tumbling down all over as you snip away.
So sweet.
I was feeling sort of overwhelmed by the holiday hustle and bustle.
I ventured to a busy store and the reality hit me.
:-)
But paper cutting brought me right back down to earth.
Just what I needed for sure.
I stuck them to my old cabinet and was pleased as punch.
Isn't it so funny, with all the fancy schmancy things out there?
In the end it's paper snowflakes that make me feel all holiday happy.
And calm to boot.
I bet you have oodles of wrapping paper hanging around.
Odd little pieces too?
Nothing better I can think of than making a few.
They're also so pretty placed on top of wrapped gifts.
I guess that fact is, snowflakes look lovely anywhere.
So, just when your head might pop off your body from holiday stress...
Stop the madness by sitting in a corner with something hot to sip and make snowflakes.
I bet it'll take the edge right off.
A natural valium.
Haha!
I'm watching mysteries and going to cut a few more.
Such a perfect Friday evening I'd day.
I should be doing a million other things but I faced the shopping world...
Shipped out all my order parcels with love from the shop.
Tackled a shed (yipes!)
And, am going to now take a free night.
I still have lots of clay goodies waiting for paint...
So, I'm thinking they should just be new year goodies.
I just submitted some art designs for some new products, can't wait to share.
But for now, it's all paper.
Will you make some snowflakes too?
Back to my tea & mysteries I go.
See you soon.
Love, V
