Oh, it's beautiful outside these days.
Beautiful wonderful days.
And grand, great huge surprises in the form of...

Fruit blossoms.
My now 3 year old volunteer peach tree has first & huge incredible blossoms.
It's a baby of the 30+ year old peach tree.
If you think of what it takes in necessary cold days and water to get a peach pit to germinate, well, it's just miraculous really (especially here in the land of sun). It decided to be born in a perfect bed in the veggie garden. A gift from nature to be sure.
And blossoming so early in its life.
Just wow.
The bees flutter by as Miles sniffs and licks the blooms himself.
Miley, let your mother take your picture I say.
Come on open your eyes Miley.
I can't, the sun is too bright.
:-)

Beautiful sweet soul.
Lucky me for getting to love him so.
My entire being is smiling on these earliest of almost spring days.

Those fresh tender petals and leaves are just beyond words.
Isn't it such a wonderful time?

I know some of you aren't here yet, so I took these with you in mind.
Lots going on in the land of sun.

The matthiolas are ruffled as ever.
Like layers of frosting, loving the cool mornings.

Perfect pale pink.

Delphiniums reach for the sky, as I wait wait wait.
Can't wait for them to open.

I hear the light crunching of my tiny shadow.
Right behind me as always, ready to run for fear of being grabbed.
Please Matty just one pic, please?
Snap.

He is soooo loveable, but only when he feels like it.
All the other times, I let him be his skittish kooky self.
He follows me to my new favorite place.
Marveling at the volunteer.

We stroll around listening to the endless chatter of hummingbirds.
The loud single chirps of the cardinals.
The silent quick moves of the vermillion fly catchers.
I turn on the irrigation and like early morning clock work...
Whether it's my hose or the sprinkler, the hummies are ready for a bath.

So cute.
I looooove bath time.

Sweeties, aren't they?

They follow us around, flower to flower.
Miley running ahead with his giant log, Matty behind me quietly mimicking my steps.

Carolina jasmine droops with flowers as wisteria flowers form.
Oh my!!

It's happening.
I'm giddy, I can't help it.

I pruned my 38 rose bushes just in time because the warmth came in and made them explode with new leaves.
It's excitement overload for a garden lover I tell ya.

The plum trees are all blossoms too.

The bees are in heeeeaven.

I watch them, inspired to paint them.

They have all sorts of funny maneuvers.

I end with my obsession.

Sweet tree.
About 3 or 4 years old.
I think the first year it was hidden in the tomatillos.
When I noticed it I just let marigolds self seed around it.
And now...

Bliss blooms.
Creating joy for furry and non furry creatures all around.
(and can you believe there are 3 other peach volunteers coming up, it's amazing, but it's what happens when you put your peach pits in the compost)
Haha!
What glorious delicious weather.
Such beautiful days.
I'm painting outside, finishing some clay pieces I started in early winter.
I really enjoyed my unintended year off of making lots of things.
I hadn't even realized I needed it.
I guess no vacations for 9 years can do that to you.
I still made art, but not like I had years before.
It was a wonderful amazing year filled with sooo many happenings.
I really needed it, I'm so refueled I'm bursting.
Even my joy vaults are all full.
Now I'm all inspired and making things with mad delight.
I hiked and hiked and hiked my heart out for a year and 2 months.
Then...
I had 3 scary incidences with weirdos in the last 2 weeks, and the last one was very creepy and could have been bad but I reacted early as I stay very alert on my surroundings and escaped being grabbed. Horrible.
I was refusing to be hindered by fear, but creepy men chasing you or trying to get you in their motor home kind of changes your perspective.
I decided it was definitely time for change.
Soooooo...
I ordered a giant trampoline for my garden.
I'm so excited.
And I'll only go hike with people now instead of alone.
I had a giant trampoline and pool my whole life until I moved off to be an adult.
I looove doing hills but weirdos are weirdos.
I like weirdos, but scary men in the middle of nowhere, not so much.
Man, they sure take the fun out of fun.
I love running my garden track & walking & other stuff.
But I need some other excitement too.
Soooo, jumping it is.
And maybe it's time for a lap pool?
I can't wait to jump.
Two more days.
Then I jump.
For now it's paint and blooms and dogs and clay.
And looooots of furry hugs and kisses.
How are you out there in the world?
What's going on out there?
I'm in the sun listening to the Lost in the Dream album by War on Drugs.
I love refinding songs in my Ipod that I enjoy.
Lovely days indeed.
xoxo
Love, V
