The Mad Tea Party is in just a few days!
Time to conjure up some special goodies, wouldn't you say?
Of course in wonderland you'd only pick the most curious specimens.
And so I set off to do just that...
Amanita Muscaria picking in the dark forest.
But wait, these kind of mushrooms are poisonous!
Which you should never eat.
Unless they're not mushrooms at all of course.
Because these little sweeties are made out of cookies.
So you can actually eat them.
And what's better, no baking needed.
Just buy your supplies at the grocery store and put them together.
I stood in the grocery store and looked for components, inventing as I went along.
I settled on Pepperidge Farm vanilla pirouettes for the stems, which I just snapped into the right size.
For the tops I used Snackwell's devil's food cake cookies.
They're puffed and round, just perfect.
I used the bottom of a paint brush to make little indentations on the underside of the chocolate cookie cake.
Then I melted some chocolate chips to act as glue.
Drizzled a little chocolate in the indentation and sunk the pirouette cookie stem in.
I then set them aside to dry & set for a little while.
I bought some Wilton's red frosting in a can to frost the tops.
I know, canned frosting, haha!
Normally I would make all the components, but I really wanted an easy project.
Then I simply smoothed out the frosting carefully, and got ready for my white crumble on top.
I made the white crumble topping out of Ghirardelli white chocolate chips.
I put a handful of choco chips between parchment paper and smashed them up with a rolling pin.
I finished crumbling them with my fingers.
Then I just sprinkled them onto the frosting and lightly pushed them in.
Oh I almost forgot...
I smudged some melted chocolate on the bottom of the stems and pressed on some chocolate cookie crumbs to look like forest soil.
You can use oreos or chocolate wafers, just smash them up and you have dirt.
Voila!
A whole fairy ring of mushrooms at your service.
It got dark and started raining so my pics aren't the bestest.
But you get the idea, right?
Now you can pretend you're picking them in a magical forest.
Must act quick or the fairies will capture you.
And then you can gobble them up.
Just never ever ever eat the real ones.
Ever.
But eat the cookie version all day long.
So, there's my little invented edible craft for the Mad Tea Party.
Ahhh, I'm excited, almost time for some crazy mad fun!!
Okay, I better go to sleep and finish conjuring up my party in my dreams.
Yep, last minute girl here, haha!!
Hope you liked these no bake easy mushrooms.
See you soooon,
Love,
Vanessa
