Oh you sneaky weather.
It shifted just in time for the holiday season to begin.
Casting rose gold tones.
Even trees have decided it might be time to change.
Rain and wind and golden everything.
I still have flowers in my high desert garden but this might be the last week.
I live about 45-60 minutes from central Tucson, up in a mountain area where it's high desert.
Country rural but growing everyday.
Just where the desert meets the forest, as I've said before.
I can look up and see Mt. Lemmon from my front porch.
And so up here, with the cold rain, I do believe there is a change happening finally.
Yay.
I made several marigold garlands that look so pretty dried in their curry colors.
Twinkle lights are turned on...
As the glittery cardboard stars of the season start to get made.
So easy and yet so pretty and satisfying.
Just draw stars on cardboard, cut, cover in glue and dip in the sparkles of your choice.
C'est voila, a bit of magic.
I have been painting and making things.
It's about time I share some isn't it?
I know I know.
It so is.
I will soon.
Peering in a mirror in the studio, lights bounce from across the room.
It finally is autumn.
For real though.
Although, it could be 80' on Thanksgiving.
So how real it is?
We just never know.
I loved all your song choices.
I am a huge music fan.
Was raised with all the men in my family playing songs for each other late into the night.
My mom plays her radio in her car like a teeny bopper.
I was given a piano when I was around 3.
So music has been an integral part of my life.
I still play everyday and compose little tunes.
But I'm not concert pianist disciplined, not that that would surprise you, haha!
Being the weasel I am and all :-)
But yes, I LOVE music.
All kinds of music.
My Ipod is bursting with all genre's.
Truth be told, I also listen to my fair share of dance and pop music.
The reason is that I hit the hills every morning and I need really upbeat tunes to keep me going.
I am listening all the time and updating all my songs regularly so I don't get bored.
People in the car with me are like, how on earth do you know all the current pop tunes?
Do you think you're 17??!
Hahaha!
Well, that's why.
But I also have classical, new age, orchestral, 80's, 70's, 60's, world beats and more at the ready.
It just depends on my mood.
But I can almost always listen to Fleetwood Mac, The Police, The Cure, Talk Talk, Journey, etc. without feeling like I'm not in the mood for it.
I'll leave you with a sweet little tune.
A little bit lovely, a little bit sad, a lot a bit touching.
But mostly because to me it feels like autumn, when things change the most.
From so many months of green and flowers to -
Gold and grey and sweaters...
(Tiny Ruins, Bird in the Thyme)
See you very soon.
I'm hosting a Thanksgiving shindig so I'm a bit swamped at this very moment.
So, if I don't get back here, warmest loveliest Thanksgiving wishes from me to you.
Thank you for being here.
Lots of love,
Vanessa
