In keeping with the spirit of the season, I had to share cookie witch fingers.
With Halloween right around the corner, they're a must, if I do say so myself ;)
I have made these cookies several times.
I shared them last year on my A Fanciful Twist blog.
They were such a huge hit, that I am making them again this week.
I used Martha Stewart's recipe here.
They were surprisingly sturdy, and tasty too.
Not a crumbly cookie, which is good.
They did not crumble easily, if at all.
One change I made is that, I used salted butter (instead of unsalted), and therefore omitted the "pinch of salt" from the recipe.
I also did not brush on an egg wash before baking, as I wanted matte and not shiny fingers.
Before mine were baked, I mixed edible gold and silver dust into my food coloring, and then I painted it onto the almond nails.
This made the nails get darker and almost black once baked.
After they were baked, I took more of the edible sparkle dust and brushed it all over the baked fingers....
They are sooo super sparkly in person, mmmm!
And quite tasty!
What is a proper Halloween feast without baked witch fingers and toes, I ask?
(I wish you could see the amazing sparkle of gold & silver dust on the fingers)
They are a huge hit, I totally recommend them!
Bwahahahaaaaa!
